At
our last meeting we were given the details of the lawsuit brought against
Dargan Coggeshall for fishing on the Jackson River near Smith Bridge. He
gave us a complete overview of what led to the lawsuit and the implications of
this case on other streams in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is asking
that we donate to the Virginia Rivers Defense Fund to help cover the cost of
his legal fees. Chapter member and State Council member Urbie Nash has
agreed to match donations from other chapter members. He will donate
matching amounts combined up to $1000.00 from other members. Chapter
member Doug Stegura has agreed to donate the proceeds from the sale of his
landing nets and wood fly boxes (on display at South RIver Fly Shop). We
will discuss options for a chapter donation at our next meeting. For more
information on the suit please visit our website or www. virginiariversdefensefund.org
