The Rife-Loth Dam has been completely removed from the South River. And the folks who worked on this project did a great job, The site of the old dam is now a gorgeous little rapids. And the area upstream looks fantastic already. We've already seen brown trout holding in the bedrock channels upstream of where the dam used to be.
Last weekend SVTU members planted grass seed along the newly exposed riparian zone. Once the stream channel has stabilized, we'll probably be back to plant trees in the Spring.
